The November Issue: False Heads - 'It's all there but you're dreaming’

Updated: Feb 20, 2024

This month we’re bringing you another artist collaboration… say hello to False Heads.

"They are young and talented and going places... if they came to my town I'd show up for that, if they come to your town, you might wanna show up" - Iggy Pop

The East London-based rock/punk band False Heads are making waves, and we’re expecting even bigger things to come from this rock’n’ roll trio. Luke Griffiths (Guitar/Vocals), Jake Elliott (Bass), and Barney Nash (Drums/Vocals) started playing as False Heads in 2015, and not long after caught the attention of former Ramones manager Danny Fields in London, who began mentoring the band.

If you haven’t heard of Fields, you would have heard of who he’s responsible for signing, including, Nico, Iggy Pop & The Stooges, and even The MC5 - “The punk legend Danny Fields saw us live in Camden and we impressed him. And since then we've become good friends with him”.

After releasing some singles and playing venues including the Roundhouse in July 2016 for the 30th anniversary of the Ramones’ performance, False Heads released their debut EP receiving critical acclaim, along with extensive radio play, while also being played on Radio 1 by the legend that is Iggy Pop, who has since championed the band on his Radio 6 Music show.

Here at Runout Record Club we LOVE bringing you an artist collaboration, and 'It's all there but you're dreaming’ features 12 pure adrenaline-driven, riff-heavy, and unforgettable tracks. Luke Griffiths described the album as, “An expression of energy and emotion of extremities...It weaves in and out of introspection and extrospection, and I think the music stands by those things”.

The album itself was originally released last year, just a few days before the world shut down, and just before the real promo for the album was due to begin. This year the album was re-released in its physical form, and we genuinely believe this is one of the best albums to be released in 2020. Our subscribers can enjoy a signed copy of the album from the band.
